Stude Real Estate developers requested a professional landscape design
for renovation of this strip shopping mall on Manchester Road in Warson
Woods, St. Louis County, MO. The design utilized drought and
pollution-resistant plant materials including Bradford Pear, Juniper
species, Magnolia Soulangeana, ornamental grasses, Yew and the Elm
substitute, Japanese Zelkova. The design incorporated annual plantings
for a punch of seasonal color, in addition to Iris and Wild Geranium
perennial plantings for a cost effective display of spring and summer
color. Although and upgraded and ongoing maintenance program would be
desireable, the overall project is an excellent example of successful
suburban commercial design and remains intact after over 20 years
